Fellow Showcase
DECEMBER 3, 2025 @ WESTON MIDDLE SCHOOL
MIT is coming to Weston Middle School!
We’re excited to share some really cool research that is coming out of the Research Laboratory of Electronics with you.
Ten incredibly talented PhD students were chosen to join a brand new leadership development fellowship program. These students were selected as promising leaders so that they can become professors, industry leaders, and CEOs of startups.
TED Talks - Kids’ Choice Awards
As the final showcase to our program, the Fellows will be sharing 5 minute TED talks with you about their research.
If they can communicate what they do to Middle School students effectively, then they can communicate successfully with anyone they need along their professional journey!
After each talk, you’ll be asked to vote in your Chromebooks using the following rubric:
The talk was clear
The talk was exciting
I learned something new about science
The speaker looks like they’ll be a successful leader
Hands-on demonstrations
The Fellows have each designed hands-on demos for you to learn more about their research. Each Fellow will have a table set up in the library - much like a science fair - so you can walk around and explore.
The Fellows have made a challenging scavenger hunt for you to do while you are attending the demo stations.
Anyone who completes the scavenger hunt successfully will get a prize.
Here’s a sneak preview of the TED Talks:
